Fiber Optic Switching with HDCP Compliance
RGB Spectrum, a leader in videographic processing technology for control rooms, conference rooms, medical and defense applications, today announced the incorporation of its HDCP-compliant FiberDVI™ extenders in the new line of Linx™ F Series fiber switchers. Based on the Linx family of DVI switchers, the F Series provides advanced EDID management with the ability to drive signals over a single fiber up to 500 meters. The highly modular F Series switchers use dual-channel input and output cards with SC connectors for single-strand multi-mode cable.
The very small footprint of the external Optical/DVI and DVI/Optical modules that connect to inputs and displays is unique among fiber switchers. The miniature modules are fully contained within a DVI headshell size enclosure that connects directly into signal sources and displays, eliminating the clutter of separate boxes. Transmit modules may be powered by the input device, eliminating the need for an external power supply.
In addition to transmitting high-resolution video, the integrated bi-directional Data Display Channel (DDC) supports EDID and HDCP, enabling the F Series to take advantage of the Linx switcher's unique EDID management capabilities for capture and pass-through modes. HDCP compliance allows the transmission of protected content from devices such as Blu-Ray disc players.
Linx F Series switcher are available in models supporting input-by-output configurations of 8x8 to 32x32.
